Laine Train – T-Shirt

I have seen it quoted that being an Olympian requires a “vow of poverty.” Thankfully the sport of track and field has come far enough that this has become at least slightly less true and yet there is no doubt that being a world class track and field athlete demands sacrifice, both financial and otherwise. I began selling Laine Train apparel in the lead up to the 2012 Olympic Games as a means of connecting with supporters and fans but also in order to defray training, medical and competition costs which are handled entirely by athletes themselves (although I am beyond fortunate to have sponsors who now assist me to some extent as well). The response I received was overwhelming and extremely humbling and so I’ll continue to get shirts out just as fast as you all order them. The majority of proceeds from these sales will still go towards training and competition expenses as I attempt to take my training to new heights at this crucial point in my athletic career, but I have now also made it a priority to get the ball rolling on my foundation.
